It is always great to hear what our former students are up to. Amy Thomas from the SJR class of 2014 has just finished her second year at Liverpool John Moores University where she is reading Media, Culture and Communications. Amy has been successful in securing a paid four-week internship within the University’s World of Work Careers Office. Amy went up against her fellow students from a range of courses to get the post and the selection process included a challenging formal interview.
Gaining a job after University is extremely competitive and it’s great to see that the skills gained during a student’s time at SJR are proving invaluable in their search for work. Our students have access to our career-based elective programme and experience excellent careers advice and guidance (Please make ‘Careers Advice and Guidance’ a hyperlink to the news story about winning highly commended award http://sjr.ac.uk/news/archive/archive_skills_for_business.asp ) throughout their college years, ensuring they have a head start in raising their aspirations and developing their employability.
