St John Rigby’s Future Leaders took part in the North West Regional Final of the Debating Matters competition at the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The students took part in two main debates, one focused on "Solutions to water scarcity in the UK are technological, not environmental," and a second discussing "Social egg freezing empowers women." The students performed extremely well against tough competition and were able to beat their competitors from Bolton Boys’ School Division, but lost out on a finals place overall.

St John Rigby would like to praise its Future Leaders on the level of success they have had in their first year of debating and also to pass on congratulations to Loreto Sixth Form College who won the event overall.
