SJR students and staff came together as a community to raise awareness and money to support individuals with mental health needs. On World Mental Health Day in October, we held a Tea and Talk event which was developed by the Mental Health Foundation charity.
Awareness of mental health issues was raised on the day through information stalls and a short film on Mental Health was shown in reception, which was developed by one of our ex-students, Kristen Hey. In addition, this short film was recently showcased at the Lowry in Manchester.
Overall, we raised an amazing £230.35, thanks to the kind donations from students and staff, and their cake making skills (Mary Berry would be proud!).
The money raised will be shared between two charities: MIND and the World Mental Health Foundation.
