Helen Hartfield visited Health & Social Care students to give them an insight into her work as a senior paediatric nurse.
Helen works on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s University Hospital. Helen looks after children with leukaemia and cancer (solid tumours) of the bone and organs. The hospital also performs transplants for cancer and genetic disorders.
Helen provided the students with real life stories, along with details of her day to day role and the qualifications needed to become a paediatric nurse.
