Three Future Writers elective students, Cara Gaskell, Lizzie Wood and Jocelyn Howarth, have been published in the short story book Mission Catastrophe – Lancashire Tales, having been successful in a competition run by the Young Writers foundation.
English teacher Toby Lynch said: “The brief stipulated that students had to write a complete narrative of exactly 100 words on the subject of the aftermath of a catastrophic event. The students all did brilliantly to manage the challenging task so well – every word had to count – and that they all came up with something so very different was testament to the high levels of creativity I’ve been seeing all year from the Future Writers”.
A copy of the book with all of the stories from our students can be found in the college library.
