A group of Year 13 BTEC Business students braved the cold to raise money for local charity Embrace Wigan and Leigh by participating in a sponsored 5K walk around the rural areas close to college.
The charity supports people with disabilities and their families in a variety of ways, from home visits to telephone helplines and it was chosen by the students due to its positive impact on the local community.
Charlotte Jones, Business teacher, said “We just want to say a big thank you to the students who planned and organised this event. They have managed to raise an impressive grand total of £380 for a worthy local charity which they are extremely passionate about.”
All students involved deserve congratulations on their efforts and the staff at SJR are proud of their achievements.
