Former student Ryan Williams paid us a visit to showcase his exciting new project, The Buzz Pod; a pop-up, portable recording studio which gives people with support needs the chance to host their own professional radio podcasts.
Ryan and his team were working with students from Hawkley Brook College, part of the Hope School, who spend every Wednesday at St John Rigby College and who thoroughly enjoyed their day as radio DJs! Ryan said, “I was very proud to be back at St John Rigby College to share the project I have created with the next generation of SJR Music students. After a fantastic session with the Hope School group, I delivered a talk to the Music department, explaining how the project enables people with support needs to experience the latest audio technology in an accessible setting.”
Ryan works with SK Independent Living Services and founded the lottery funded project, which has proved to be a great success. He added, “It was inspiring to see such interest from young people, who even offered to volunteer their time to help us at future events.”
