Thirty SJR Maths students took part in the UK Senior Maths Challenge this November and all fell within the High Performers classification, which qualified them to be presented with certificates.

Year 13 student Daniel Wilson did particularly well, winning a Gold certificate. He ranked amongst the top scorers in the country and has landed a place in the next stage of the challenge, the Senior Kangaroo.

Opportunities like this are open to all students studying Maths, including members of our Future Engineers Elective course. Such challenges add a competitive and fun dimension to our Maths study programmes and are a great practice in putting mental arithmetic skills to the test for those aspiring to future careers in Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Accountancy, Statistics, Research Science, Meteorology, Quantity Surveying, IT and Teaching, to name just a few.
