Music in the Community
The Cardinal in college

SJR ’s Music Department were lucky enough to be invited to Woodfield Primary School to take part in “Woodfield Stock,” a community celebration of music aimed at raising the aspirations of young people and bringing the local people together. SJR provided technical support along with a number of performers.

This proved to be a wonderful evening and a chance for SJR Music to go out in to the local community – thank you to Ellie Juckes and the school for their kind invitation.

Thanks also go to Up Holland High School for their kind invitation to take part in their annual end of year celebration. In another community event for SJR's Music Department, we were blessed by the fact that students came back from their summer holidays to perform for the event. Thank you to Josh, Connor, Adam and Sarah for their wonderful renditions within a varied programme. Josh and Connor provided us with songs from Musical Theatre (Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and Kiss The Air) whilst Sarah performed a classical voice piece called King David. Adam 'rocked the house' on electric guitar with his rendition of La Grange by ZZ Top.

All of the schools and the College performed in an exemplary fashion as always - Well done to everyone involved!
