Photography students have had their work selected to be displayed in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, alongside other talented young photographers from schools and colleges within the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
Six of our students entered the ‘Spirituality in our Schools’ themed photography competition. The brief for entrants was to produce photographs which portrayed spirituality in relation to the environment at St John Rigby College. To accompany the images, the students provided an explanation of their work.
Year 13 student Sophie Kenyon described the inspiration behind her image, “St John Rigby College is a united community, in which spirituality is central. In this image each hand represents one feature of the Holy Trinity, watching over every individual within our College community. The relationships here combine to create a deeply divine environment that enables all students to become mature, wholesome, independent and successful individuals.”
Samantha Roberts, Year 12 Photography student, said “This image symbolizes how I imagine myself without the spiritual experiences and support I receive at College. There would be a hole, a space in my consciousness that would leave me incomplete.”
All staff are extremely impressed with the unique, creative pieces of art work that our students have produced and would like to congratulate all who entered on their efforts.
