This year saw another successful Summer Arts Festival at college. SJR students from Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Modern Foreign Languages, English, Media Studies, Film Studies and Level 1 courses, as well as students from Hawkley Brook School all presented work for the evening. There were art displays, dance performances, musicians and face painting, as well as an ice cream van, BBQ and affordable art sale. Everyone who came had a fantastic time.
During the day it was clear that the weather wasn’t going to hold out, but staff and students didn’t let this dampen their spirits – the festival continued with more vigour than ever! The evening concluded with the annual presentation of the “Giovanna Mula Endeavour Award” which for the first year ever was presented to two individuals who have worked consistently hard in college and have worked their way up from Level 2 provision to completing their A2 studies. Both individuals are a clear testament to the dedication and hard-work that SJR students provide to the wider college community.
Well done to all who took part and a big thank you to all staff and students for making the evening a wonderful success!
