On Weds 6th November 17 of our Y12 future medics, dentists and vets attended a medicine taster day at Edge Hill. The students attended workshops on “Life as a doctor”, “The importance of Nutrition in medicine” and “Anatomy”. They had the opportunity to experience virtual dissection using a special computerised table that allowed you to view, virtually dissect and manipulate the human body. They also really enjoyed practising clinical skills in the afternoon in a model operating theory and hospital ward where the patients were computerised mannequins that could react and groan! A particular highlight was watching a female mannequin give birth!
