The History department recently visited RAF Cosford, the home of the National Cold War Exhibition. The visit included dramatic displays of aircraft from World War Two alongside storytelling ‘hot spots’ of the Cold War, including the Cuban Missile Crisis and an original section of the Berlin Wall. Students were also able to participate in the ‘Clash of Conflicts’ session, where they were able to participate in debates about why the Cold War started and whether all countries should be allowed to have nuclear weapons. Optional participation in an RAF flight simulator topped off an informative and enjoyable day!
