About the college

St John Rigby College offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses at all levels in a highly supportive and caring environment to approximately 1400 full-time students aged 16-18. We welcome applications from people who are keen to work with us to deliver educational excellence at all levels.


The College was inspected in February 2017 and was judged to be “outstanding” in every aspect.

Inspectors quote: “Students value the support they receive and are able to identify how it has helped their progress and developed their confidence. The Catholic mission and values permeate the college and are highly effective in developing students’ positive attitudes to learning.”

Position Requirements

HR Manager                      

Start Date                           As soon as possible

Contract                               Permanent, Full Year  

Working Time                   Full time, 36.25 hours per week.

Work Pattern                    08.15am – 16.15pm.  Monday – Friday 

Grade                                   Spine Point Range 26-32 of the Sixth Form Colleges’ New Support Staff Pay Scale

Salary                                    £40,287 – £46,481 per annum

 

As the HR Manager you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels to deliver a professional, helpful, efficient, and timely service to all staff within the College in relation to HR issues, ensuring that effective systems are in place and that College policies and procedures are adhered to.

Level 2 entry requirements

If you’re not quite ready to start on a Level 3 Technical course (T Levels) or a Vocational Level 3 course (BTEC) but want to begin on the path to your chosen career, the Transition Programme could be for you.  

Transition Programmes are tailored to prepare students to move onto Technical or Vocational Level 3 study. They will give you the opportunity to improve your English and Maths, your work readiness skills and introduce you to the technical skills and concepts that you will need for future study and employment. 

As part of the Transition Programme you will study a BTEC Level 2 Award in your chosen subject area as well as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Award in Work Skills. You will also have the opportunity to resit GCSE English and/or Maths if you have not yet achieved a grade 4. 

Entry criteria for Transition Programmes is four grade 3s including grade 3s in English Language and Maths GCSE.
