This week our year 12 students have completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award practice expedition.
On day one, they completed a first aid course, map skills, camp-craft, team building sessions & orienteering
Day two saw them walk around Great Hill in the Rivington area and then cook their dinner al fresco back at college.
On day 3, they used footpaths in the local area to get to Ashurst Beacon in the most “off the beaten track” way that they could.
Students now have their sights set on the assessment expedition in the Lake District next year and a visit to Buckingham Palace to collect their certificates from a celebrity or possibly even royalty!
