On the 14th February, as part of the Gifted Student programme, St John Rigby College students attended an excellent OxNet ‘Study Skills Day’ at Pembroke College, Oxford.
Following an early start and a coach trip down to Oxford, students were excited to arrive and see Pembroke College, including a spot where Harry Potter was filmed! After an introductory talk on studying at Oxford, students enjoyed a three-course lunch in the servery. Students were then given the opportunity to participate in specific individual subject lectures in areas such as Languages, Science and English. A final talk on the Orwell Youth Prize rounded off an excellent day and provided our students with an opportunity to gain a real insight and experience of what life might be like studying at Oxford University.
