Physics Olympiad Champion

Physics Olympiad Champion

A huge congratulations to A level Physics student Jack Yates for achieving an amazing bronze award in the British Physics Olympiad this week. The BPhO offers a range of competitions with the aim to encourage the study of physics and to recognise excellence in young physicists in the UK.

Jack, formerly a student at Cansfield High School, is currently in Year 13 and studies A level Business Studies and A level Mathematics to compliment his Physics A level. Despite having already received a number of offers from prestigious universities for further study, Jack will be continuing his education in the Engineering sector, studying for a high level apprenticeship.

I had a great experience at SJR. I met a lovely bunch of people and made so many friends. I wouldn’t have achieved the grades I did without the tutor advice and support. Thank you.

They will give you the opportunity to improve your English and Maths, your work readiness skills and introduce you to the technical skills and concepts that you will need for future study and employment.

As part of the Transition Programme you will study a BTEC Level 2 Award in your chosen subject area as well as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Award in Work Skills. You will also have the opportunity to resit GCSE English and/or Maths if you have not yet achieved a grade 4.
