SJR is 50 – Student Success!

SJR is 50 – Student Success!

As part of our 50 year celebrations we asked former students to get in touch and share their stories of success!

Byron Austin

Byron enrolled with us from Shevington High School, after doing excellently in his GCSEs – his biggest achievement being the highest achiever in GCSE Geography.

From an early age Byron enjoyed debating and was Chairman of the Student Council and Student Voice group at school, which prompted him to explore the opportunity of a degree in Law.  At enrolment Byron opted to study A level Law and Government and Politics alongside his A level in Geography, all of which would allow him to study towards a career as a Barrister.

Currently, Byron is studying for his undergraduate degree, LLB (Hons) Law at Edge Hill University and is set to graduate this summer with first class honours. In order to gain vital experience in his field he works at Pilgrim Hope Solicitors as an Administrative Assistant, is President of the Edge Hill Law Society and an LLB student representative.

Upon graduation from Edge Hill Byron will continue his studies to become a barrister and has two university offers so far!

Thank you for getting in touch with us Byron! It has been lovely to hear your story and find out about your plans for your future.

If you are an SJR former student we want to hear from you! Please get in touch with Claudia.ireland@sjr.ac.uk and help inspire our current students with your story!
