St John Rigby College hosted the European Youth Parliament in March this year. Our students experience debating of current real political issues in a competition with other schools.
The St John Rigby committee where: Ethan Hayes, Phoebe Hamilton, Blake Wood, Flynn Smith, Aoife McLaughlin, Marcus Iannone and Grace Arnold.
As the AIDA committee (The Committee on Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Age) they were required to defend an international resolution on tackling how member states of the European Community would respond to protecting 300 million jobs that could be affected.
Another debate involved “How can European countries address the cost-of-living crisis to ensure people can live with relative financial security?”
The student very much enjoyed the debates and a big thank you to the organising committee.
