The future psychologists carried out a research project into an area that they chose. The completed a university level report to write up this research and this will prepare them for doing a psychology degree if they want to.
Some of the project titles were:
- Para-social relationships with K-Pop idols and fictional characters
- The effect of age on attitudes towards gender role and presentation
- The impact of media coverage on the uptake of female sport participation in young girls aged 16 – 18 years old
They then showcased their dissertations reports with a poster presentations event attended by the community. The psychology students had the opportunity to experience an undergraduate style event and demonstrate their independent study skills. The winners were:
- Nyah Kay – Overall winner for planning and conducting a psychology experiment.
- Ruby Mokler – Prize for originality of research
- Faith Brooks – Prize for poster research design
