C-TEC are looking to recruit an Apprentice Electronics Engineer who is looking to grow with the company and complete Higher and possibly Degree level qualifications alongside this role. You would need to have a keen interest in the role but also be self-motivated in order to complete relevant qualifications. This could be a great opportunity for the right person. Fairhurst are a local Accounting Firm based in Wigan and they are currently looking to recruit two Apprentices – one for Audit and one for Trainee Tax Assistant. You would complete Professional qualifications whilst having hands-on experience in a busy practice. Student must have achieved GCSEs in Maths & English Language to grade 4, and have completed 3 A Levels or equivalent. Skills that students must be able to demonstrate include:

Excellent attention to detail

· Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

· Proactive approach.

· Must be able to think clearly, deliver quickly and accurately

· Inquisitive nature and an aptitude for problem-solving

· Persistent, resourceful, self-motivated and able to work to deadlines

· Desire to learn and succeed in the opportunity given by the role

· Ability to build effective working relationships – internal and external

· This opportunity would be full-time working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days on a permanent basis

· Full study support including 1 day per week for tuition, training and coursework

Merseyside Police are looking to recruit a number of Police Community Support Officer Apprentices. This is a Level 4 Apprenticeship and could be a great way to build skills within the Police Force and look to progress in the future. The academic entry requirements are minimal, but students would need to highlight skills they have to work as a PCSO. Volunteer Opportunity

Wigan & Leigh Carers Centre are looking to recruit volunteers who are over 18, who would be interested in working to support Carers across the Borough via a number of opportunities. Level 2 entry requirements

If you’re not quite ready to start on a Level 3 Technical course (T Levels) or a Vocational Level 3 course (BTEC) but want to begin on the path to your chosen career, the Transition Programme could be for you.  

Transition Programmes are tailored to prepare students to move onto Technical or Vocational Level 3 study. They will give you the opportunity to improve your English and Maths, your work readiness skills and introduce you to the technical skills and concepts that you will need for future study and employment. 

As part of the Transition Programme you will study a BTEC Level 2 Award in your chosen subject area as well as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Award in Work Skills. You will also have the opportunity to resit GCSE English and/or Maths if you have not yet achieved a grade 4. 

Entry criteria for Transition Programmes is four grade 3s including grade 3s in English Language and Maths GCSE.
