Course introduction

This is a practical and challenging two-year programmer of study, equivalent to three A levels. The course covers general subjects areas as well as more specialised areas such a programming and cyber security.

Specific course entry requirements

College entry. You do not need to have studied Computer Science at GCSE or BTEC Information and Communication Technology. However, if you have studied these courses we would expect you to have obtained at least a grade 4 or Merit, (please refer to the Entry Requirements section for further details).

How will I be assessed?

Learners on the course will be assessed through a mixture of written exams, supervised assessments and course work.

What will I study?

Information Technology systems, Creating Systems to Manage Information, Using Social Media in Business, Programming, IT Project Management, Cyber security and Incident Management, IT service Delivery and Website Development are just some of the areas that will be covered. 

Where will this course lead me?

The Qualification gives learners a broad base of knowledge of the It sector, allowing them to progress to into higher education IT-related disciplines or apprenticeship.
