English Netball Success

English Netball Success

On Thursday 4 November, two students, Y13 Isabella Morris (left of photo) and Y12 Fraya Walker (who had both been nominated by the College), headed down to Nottingham for the AoC English Netball Squad trials. Both girls were successful on the first day and were asked to stay for the final day of trials on 5 November.  After two long days, with both girls working extremely hard, they both made it to the final selection process.

Unfortunately, Izzy didn’t make the final squad of 21 players. However, Fraya was successful and has earned herself a place on the English Colleges’ Netball Squad. This is an incredible achievement –  having been selected as one of the top 21 college netball players in the country.

Fraya will now participate in the programme of training and fixtures between December 2021 and May 2022. She will train and play with the rest of the England squad and will compete over 5 weekends,  including taking part in matches in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast against the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish teams. Participation on this programme is quite costly and the PE & Sport department will be helping Fraya to raise funds to assist with her expenses.
