Future Classicist and Latin students had a fantastic time working with professional archaeologists at Burscough Roman Fort last term, where they were able to apply knowledge and skills they had learned in the classroom to a real-life excavation. Several of the students are intending to apply to study Archaeology at university, and are excited to be a part of the Future Classicist Careers Academy as this means they will already have had valuable work experience before they begin their university applications.
Lead Archaeologist Steve Baldwin said of the students, “It was a pleasure to be joined by SJR students on site last Wednesday. It was good to see the enthusiasm shown by them and they are welcome back on site again.”
