The Health T Level comprises core and occupational specialism components which includes working within the health and science sector, providing person centred care, Health and Wellbeing, and managing information and data within the health and science sector. This means that modules of this course include:

•Infection control & clinical practices
•Safeguarding
To study towards a T-Level at St John Rigby College you will need to have achieved a minimum of five Grade 4s at GCSE.
This includes achieving GCSE Mathematics grade 4 or above, English Language (4) or above and Science (4) or above. (please refer to the Entry Requirements section for further details).
In addition to the academic requirements described above it is essential all students have DBS clearance.
You will be assessed through written exams, employer-set project, case studies, practical activities and a practical discussion.
• 2 written exams (paper A & B)
• An employer-set project (ESP) – a supervised project
• End of course exam and observations in a clinical
simulation
T Levels will also provide a progression pathway to skilled employment, higher or degree-level apprenticeships and higher-level education. Students who achieve this qualification could progress to adult nursing or other nursing routes, ambulance support worker, healthcare support worker in a health setting, senior healthcare support worker in a health setting.

If you’re not quite ready to start on a Level 3 Technical course (T Levels) or a Vocational Level 3 course (BTEC) but want to begin on the path to your chosen career, the Transition Programme could be for you.
Transition Programmes are tailored to prepare students to move onto Technical or Vocational Level 3 study. They will give you the opportunity to improve your English and Maths, your work readiness skills and introduce you to the technical skills and concepts that you will need for future study and employment.
As part of the Transition Programme you will study a BTEC Level 2 Award in your chosen subject area as well as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Award in Work Skills. You will also have the opportunity to resit GCSE English and/or Maths if you have not yet achieved a grade 4.
Entry criteria for Transition Programmes is four grade 3s including grade 3s in English Language and Maths GCSE.
